Ferret Care

All vaccines are killed and not modified live for this species.

Distemper Vaccinations:

Most ferrets are purchased from suppliers already sexually altered and with some vaccine history. If no vaccines have been given, we give the Merial Ferret Vaccine® twice, one injection given three weeks apart. Once the vaccine is boostered, it is guaranteed for 1 year. Ferrets are very susceptible to this often-fatal disease and should be vaccinated unless there is substantial reason not to do so. Our veterinarians will be happy to discuss vaccine issues with you.

Rabies Vaccinations:

Ferrets can be vaccinated annually for rabies.  You can discuss with our veterinarian what risk factors are present and whether you want to vaccinate for rabies depending on your situation.

All Completed programs receive 10% off the price of either a spay or neuter provided the surgery is completed by six months of age. If microchipped at surgery, a 10% discount on the price of the chip will also be given. These discounts are additional to the amounts listed above - even more savings!

Programs are paid in advance and completed on an agreed upon schedule that is completed by the time your puppy is 16 weeks of age. Any missed services will be charged at the regular rate. Any medical conditions or medications, with the exception of the Interceptor® or Iverhart®, will be additional.
